Promoting Asturian entrepreneurship with Gijón Impulsa

Working together with different entities is the perfect way to pool knowledge and experience and continue helping entrepreneurs with their projects. One of the success stories in which we have seen this firsthand is Gijón Impulsa.

October 2020 saw the start of another edition of MBA DrivesGijón Impulsa's Master's in Entrepreneurship. This free blended learning program lasts 6 months, in which the selected entrepreneurs learn how to implement their business idea accompanied by different mentors and experts.

From Tetuan Valley we have accompanied the 10 selected projects from the beginning of the program, laying the groundwork with a Kick Off, in which we discussed the concept of Lean Startup and started the Master.

Thanks to our experience with the Startup School we have been able to develop very useful techniques for entrepreneurs, managing to convey their idea clearly and concisely, addressing the most relevant points according to the target audience. That is why on several occasions we have been working on the Pitch Practice with Impulsa MBA projects. Accompanied by mentors who passed through the 19th edition of our Startup School, such as Nazareth Rodrigañez (founder of PoiN Places) and Jorge Montero (CEO and co-founder of Homming).

After 6 months of work, on May 13th we met in Asturias to enjoy the Demo Day. Demo DayFinally we were able to meet the 3 winners of the edition:

1st prize: Jelly Farmer, a project focused on the sustainable breeding of jellyfish in captivity for ornamental aquariums.

2nd prize: Mirándagra, developing a device to improve the communication and well-being of the elderly.

3rd prize: Catlove Coffee, a healthy and sustainable gastronomic experience with premises in Gijón that will soon open in Madrid as part of its expansion plans.

We would like to congratulate the winners, as well as all the participating entrepreneurs. After having gone through the program we are happy that they are now part of our community of entrepreneurs as alumni and are within our Discord community.
