Cybersecurity startups founded by women: Women4Cyber Startup School
According to the INCIBE report, "Analysis and diagnosis of the state of cybersecurity in Spain", in Spain there are 31% of women in cybersecurity organizations. The presence of female cybersecurity talent in Spain has risen in a short time from 11% to the current figure, but there is still a lot of work ahead.
From Tetuan Valley we work daily to ensure that entrepreneurship and its methodologies reach all areas and help to achieve greater growth and continuous innovation. We accompany startups, as well as companies and institutions, to make this a reality.
This 2022, for the first time, we have launched a Startup School for women entrepreneurs in the field of cybersecurity.
We have launched this program together with Women4Cyber Spain (W4C Spain), an initiative that was created with the aim of becoming a benchmark in the promotion and visibility of the role of women in cybersecurity in Spain, as well as gender diversity in the sector. We have also had the support of our partner Google for Startups.
After a month of applications, 5 startups were chosen to be part of the program and learn alongside expert mentors in cybersecurity and entrepreneurship.
The following projects were selected:
CyberCrin: The CyberCrin team seeks to democratize cybersecurity for small and medium-sized companies through automated software. They work with continuous monitoring, which alerts the company when it is being the victim of an attack.
Intrepit: This is an integrated IT management service for SMEs, which aims to cover small and less urban areas.
APIQuality: is a service that takes care of all the cybersecurity part of third-party APIs.
EducaSec: This team has one goal: to provide security to the education sector. To this end, it is working on software that provides much-needed support for education platforms.
Dotnetsafer: It is a cybersecurity platform that serves to ensure integrity and privacy in all aspects of international software development.
They were created with the aim of avoiding the theft of confidential information and intellectual property, preventing economic losses and the risk of a damaging image in companies.
The program, which began at the end of May, has featured high-level speakers who have been supporting the teams.
It will end in style with a Demo Day on June 30.
The Demo Day will start at 18h with the words of Lola Rebollo (INCIBE), Azucena Hernández (Eurocybcar) and Enrique Serrano (Hackrocks) among other speakers who will share their experience. Then there will be the presentation of the startups and projects selected for this I Edition by their founders, before a jury composed of entrepreneurs, cybersecurity experts, investors and even potential customers.
After the presentations, we will share a networking in which it will be possible to get to know better the teams, mentors and entrepreneurial ecosystem. The entrance is open, and to register you can do it through the following link: https://www.eventbrite.es/e/entradas-w4c-startup-school-demo-day-335242067047
