Startup School 25: When design and the legal framework become allies of entrepreneurship
At Tetuan Valley, we believe that entrepreneurship is not just about having a good idea, but also knowing how to design it well, protect it from the start, and manage it wisely. That's why, in this edition of Startup School 25 , in addition to the community mentors, we have collaborated with two key partners who have supported our teams in key areas for any project: La Nave Nodriza and Letslaw .
Each of them has contributed their experience from a different perspective, but with a common goal: to enable entrepreneurial teams to move forward with a more comprehensive, professional vision that is more connected to market reality.
Design with Purpose: Sessions and Mentorships from The Mothership
La Nave Nodriza collaborated on this edition by offering several training sessions and individual mentoring sessions focused on strategic and product vision. Lorena Maceratesi and Isa Ludita , captain of La Nave Nodriza, joined the teams for a session on UX/UI, Empathy Maps, and Customer Persona. Later, María Granadino shared a spectacular session on product. The goal: to help teams thoroughly understand their users in order to build useful, usable, and desirable products.
During their sessions, the teams developed practical tools to map the user experience and more clearly define their key segments. This human-centered approach strengthened the fit between the problem, solution, and value proposition.
What inspired you while working with these early-stage entrepreneurs?
“Being part of Startup School 25 has been a very enriching experience for us at La Nave Nodriza. Supporting the teams in the early stages of their projects' development has allowed us to share key lessons and, at the same time, continue learning together. It has been especially valuable to see how the ideas evolved and were refined with each iteration, always with the users at the center. For us, supporting digital entrepreneurs with a focus on design and strategy is a concrete way to contribute to the creation of more useful, humane, and sustainable products.” - Beatriz García González , Learning Experience Director at La Nave Nodriza
If you had to define in one sentence what this experience has given you, what would it be?
“We are pleased to have supported purposeful projects, the contagious enthusiasm of the teams, and many inspiring conversations. Personally, this edition has reaffirmed for me the importance of having a clear value proposition, deeply understanding users' needs, and seeking a good product-market fit from the outset. It has also reminded me of the value of creating spaces, mentorships, where listening, empathy, and conscious design are always central.” - Beatriz García González, Director of Learning Experience at La Nave Nodriza
Furthermore, the personalized support provided by their mentors allowed the teams to apply the concepts directly to their own projects, detecting improvements in their visual storytelling, product design, and interaction logic.

Solid foundations for growth: Letslaw training and consulting
In-person session of the Startup School 25 program
For its part, the Letslaw team offered both group classes and consulting services to all teams, covering the legal and financial aspects essential to any early-stage startup.
With Letslaw , teams addressed key issues such as the appropriate legal structure, partner agreements, data protection, and drafting terms and conditions. All from a clear, actionable, and startup-friendly perspective.
In the training session "Accounting and Financial Aspects," the focus was on understanding the most important financial metrics, preparing sustainable models, and having a clear financial roadmap for the first few months. Knowing how much you can spend, when to seek financing, and how to communicate your viability isn't an extra: it's part of the work of entrepreneurship.
What inspired you while working with these early-stage entrepreneurs?
“Their energy and ability to reinvent themselves every day. Seeing how one day they come up with an idea and the next day they're pivoting to improve it drives us to seek legal solutions as creative as they are.” - Paula Ferrándiz , Managing Attorney at Letslaw
If you had to define in one sentence what this experience has given you, what would it be?
“Learning and challenges. Working alongside these teams has reminded us that the best legal consulting comes from adapting together at every step.” - Paula Ferrándiz, Managing Attorney at Letslaw
This support has been key to enabling the teams to move forward with greater confidence and less risk, better understanding the ground they are building on.
Special thanks to our partners
The collaboration between La Nave Nodriza and Letslaw has been instrumental in enriching the Startup School 25 training experience, providing practical tools and key knowledge that will support our entrepreneurs beyond the program.
