SEO is dead: Can we finally stop talking like robots?

If you're an entrepreneur, you've probably spent sleepless nights trying to understand what the heck a slug or meta description is, or why your copywriter insists on repeating "buy cheap shoes Madrid" five times in one paragraph.

Well, break out the champagne (or a strong coffee): SEO as we knew it is no more.

In collaboration with Angélica Pimentel, an alumna of our Tetuan Valley community, today we are going to explore why the era of speaking "Googlese" is over and why this is the best news of the century for your business. This analysis stems from Angélica's original reflections on her blog, and believe us, it's not to be missed.

From "Googlés" to Spanish (Finally!)

For 20 years, Google searches forced us to fragment our ideas. No one says at dinner, "Free Christmas plans in Madrid. " If you talk like that, your friends will probably stop inviting you to dinner. But on the internet, if you didn't talk like a broken robot, you didn't exist.

What has changed? AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) doesn't want keywords; it wants context.

In early 2025, Angélica noticed something crazy: most of her platform's traffic was no longer coming from Google, but from queries on ChatGPT. People no longer "search," they now "ask."

The Difference Between "Searching" and "Asking" (And Why It Matters)

  • Traditional search: "Instagram business promotion" (Cold, technical, boring).

  • AI query: " I have a small store, I post on Instagram, but nobody pays attention to me, and I don't know who to listen to. What am I doing wrong?" (Human, with context, real).

AI is like that smart friend who understands you right away. You don't need to put quotation marks around your words or speak in code. So if your content still reads like an instruction manual for algorithms, AI will ignore it. AI looks for sources that sound like people.

Data doesn't lie (not even Google's)

If you're afraid to stop optimizing for the usual search engine, check this out:

  1. In 2024 and 2025, Google's AI Overviews (those summaries that appear at the top) caused traffic to websites to drop by between 15% and 30%.

  2. A study of families showed that 6 out of 10 trust what another family says more than what Google spits out.

Conclusion for your business: Authority is no longer measured by how many times you repeat a word, but by how much trust you generate and how well you solve a human problem.

What should entrepreneurs do now?

Breathe! The new "technological revolution" consists, curiously enough, of becoming human again.

  • Goodbye to formulas: Don't write for the algorithm. Write for the person who has a problem and is looking for a real solution.

  • Subject matter authority: Demonstrate that you know what you are talking about. AI values real expertise, not clickbait.

  • Context is king: The clearer you think and the better you explain things, the more useful you will be to Artificial Intelligence models that seek reliable sources of information.

The end of "digital illiteracy"

For years, we were led to believe that if you didn't understand SEO, you were "digitally illiterate" and needed a thousand intermediaries. Today, the competitive advantage lies not with those who best deceive the algorithm, but with those who best understand what other human beings need.

SEO is dead. Long live conversation.
