Women4Cyber Startup School, edition 2 is here!

The II Edition of the program will be held at the end of May, organized by the associations Women4Cyber Spain and Tetuan Valley.

Madrid, April 18th - Women4Cyber Spain y Tetuan Valley join forces to celebrate the II Edition of Women4Cyber Startup Schoola training and mentoring program designed to support startups and projects in the area of cybersecurity, which have women in the founding team. This edition also has the support of Banco Santander and Google for Startups, in its commitment to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

According to INCIBE's "ObservaCiber" report, the number of professionals needed in cybersecurity in 2024 will exceed 83,000, so we are facing an opportunity of great impact, responding to the need to give visibility and impetus to entrepreneurs who are working to provide innovative solutions in the field of digital security.

Women4Cyber Startup School 's mission is to support female entrepreneurship in cybersecurity, with specialized training for entrepreneurship and support from expert mentors.

"From Women4Cyber Spain we promote the role of women in cybersecurity, either from companies or promoting their own projects and startups with great potential. We understand what it means to be an entrepreneur and we seek to give visibility and support to the talent that exists in the ecosystem." Daniela Kominsky, board member and Director of Entrepreneurship at W4C Spain.

"We seek to impact people over projects; we know that what they take away from the W4C Startup School goes beyond training, we open up a community of talent and opportunities" Iñigo Peña, President of Tetuan Valley.

Companies and institutions are increasingly concerned about cybersecurity. Proof of this is the support this program is receiving, with the addition of companies involved with female entrepreneurial talent:

"At Santander we support entrepreneurial initiatives like these, because we know that when it comes to combating cyber threats and creating a more secure ecosystem, we must look beyond our perimeter. Startups often have a very agile approach to applying technologies and may be more willing to experiment with new ideas, which ends up benefiting all of us," Daniel Barriuso, Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Banco Santander.

It also receives support from Elewit, Redeia's technology platform, Watchguard and Google for Startups: "It is an honor to be able to support organizations like Tetuan Valley and Women4Cyber Spain that are innovating in cybersecurity and betting on diversity. From Google for Startups we believe it is essential to accompany these local organizations, not only in their support for diversity and growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, but because their role is key to help companies facing digital threats," said Sofia Benjumea, Director of Google for Startups for EMEA.

Starting at the end of May, the program has a duration of 6 weeks including Kickoff, Mentors Day and Demo Day. The selected startups will receive intensive training on cybersecurity entrepreneurship in order to develop their projects. Each one will be assigned an expert mentor who will accompany them from the beginning of the program and in its subsequent evolution. The key point of the program will be the Demo Day. Here the projects will be presented with an elevator pitch worked on during all the sessions before an audience of investors, media and other actors of the public and private entrepreneurial ecosystem.
