The first Scale Up School in the history of Tetuan Valley

How did the program come about?
In order to promote innovation, contribute to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and encourage the protection of startups against cyber threats, Tetuan Valley began to collaborate with INCIBE - Instituto Nacional de Ciberseguridad - National Institute of Cybersecurity at the beginning of 2024. Thanks to this collaboration, in April we were able to inaugurate the I Edition of Startup School with INCIBE, an incubation program oriented to projects in seed or pre-seed phase and in which 20 startups participated.
This intensive program, with 2 months of training, was a great success! Therefore, we got down to work and after finishing the 1st Edition of the Startup School with INCIBE we started to organize the I Edition of Scale Up School.
The two initiatives that we have carried out this year fall within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, since INCIBEemprende is allocating Generation Next funds to boosting the national cybersecurity industry and fostering the emergence, growth and development of companies in this sector.
Both this institution and we aim to provide support to entrepreneurs who seek to excel in the fascinating world of cybersecurity.

Closing of the program: Demo Day
To celebrate the closing of this program, we organized the closing event, Demo Day. This event began with an institutional welcome by Iñigo Peña MedranoCEO of Tetuan Valley and Estrella Martínez, INCIBE entrepreneurship and business technician. Afterwards, and after a brief summary of the program, the participating startups took the stage and presented their projects in a final pitch. While we enjoyed the talk "What happens after the program?" by Carlos Hernández Martín e Ivo Vílches De Rosathe jury (constituted by Estrella Martínez, Carlos Hernando, María de Miguel de Santos y Nacho Sánchez) went to deliberate.
Finally, the 3 winners of the Scale Up School program were:
TripStop
Breakevent
ByteHide
Congratulations to the winners and the rest of the teams! Everyone has done a great job, shown their dedication and evolved their projects during the program.
Acknowledgments
To Tetuan Valley it is an important milestone to have successfully developed a program aimed at startups with traction, but above all, it is a huge source of pride that of the 10 participants, 6 are alumni of other programs of the house, thus validating the growth of projects that enter in early stages and have a great impact on the market with their growth.
We are always grateful to the extraordinary network of mentors and trainers of Tetuan Valley, the true raison d'être of this community. Experts in all disciplines that are taken into account in the growth and support of large-scale entrepreneurial projects. Their generosity, preparation and experience are fundamental pillars of the success of this program.

Thanks to all of you who join us edition after edition of these programs. To mentors, teams, alumni and all the great community that make up Tetuan Valley, thank you!
Raising investment is not just about raising money: it is about facing an emotional and strategic process that puts any founder to the test. In this blog, two Tetuan Valley alumni, Lucía Martínez (Breakevent) and Álvaro Ayllón (Maternify), share what they learned when closing their rounds, from common mistakes to key tips.
